Party-related spending: Women make a large and discreet contribution

There are many who discreetly provide their spouses with large sums to cover much of the costs associated with the celebration. Enough to ease the burden on spouses who willingly accept this precious contribution from their significant other

Mali celebrates Aid el-Kebir, known as Tabaski, this Wednesday. For many people, preparations are the concern of the moment. mainly because of the enormous costs. For many family heads, party budgets are a heavy burden. Some of them benefit from the discreet support of their wives. These women are aware of the fact that the costs associated with this celebration are numerous and weigh heavily on most husbands.
These brave ladies have lent their support because they carry out income generating activities. As owners of real hidden treasures, they help buy sheep and clothes for the children and contribute to other expenses related to the festival.

And husbands are grateful to wives who care about the well-being of the family. This is the case of sixty-year-old Youssouf Guindo. The old man lost his job due to the impact of Covid-19. The printing company that employed him had to close its doors. Since then, his wife, who runs a small business, has taken over covering the family's expenses. “At the beginning I was stressed. But as time passed, I realized that I shouldn't give up hope. My wife was able to calm me down because she is discreet in everything she does,” this husband proudly confides. The head of the family admits that he was surprised by his better half's supportive spirit. “When I made every effort to get the money for the sheep to exempt them from this expense, Madame gave me 200,000 CFA francs to buy the sheep and my festive clothes. I cried secretly. I thanked God for blessing me and putting this woman on my path, for better or for worse. She takes care of rental fees and other expenses. Our children, let alone the people around us, do not know that she is taking responsibility for our home,” testifies Youssouf Guindo.

FROM THE HEART BALM – Like Youssouf Guindo's wife, many Malian women have hurt their husbands during important holidays. Thanks to their donations, many families celebrate Tabaski with a bang. This brings balm to the hearts of the spouses and brings joy to the children.
Ms. Djénéba Diarra is a brave woman who supports her family during the celebration. This professional seamstress contributes to her family's clothing. Smoking handkerchiefs live in his hand. “Thanks to this activity, my husband no longer has to worry about party outfits for the children and his loved ones. Before I started this activity, my husband was very stressed about dressing his children and loved ones. He could spend around 500,000 CFA francs,” she said. Thanks to these efforts of our seamstress, her husband will have less costs and less stress.

But the role of women does not end there. In the privacy of their homes, they prepare delicious dishes that evoke the abundance and generosity of Tabaski. Her culinary skills coupled with her deep love for her family and loved ones deserve an atmosphere of vivacity where happiness reaches its peak. We met Ms. Ina Coulibaly. She shopped for the party food. “She states that she came early to avoid unpleasant last-minute surprises. Since I am married, I have since denied my husband money for meals for the holidays and big days,” she says. Ina offers to cook three dishes for the occasion.

“In the morning I first prepare sheep's liver with onions, then it's the turn of grilled meat with onions and meat with vermicelli. “I know it’s a small thing, but I want to please my family who love these dishes,” she says.
At Tabaski and other major festivals, women are the architects of conviviality and the inspiration for unbroken solidarity. Your role doesn't just end in the kitchen. Your unconditional support and unwavering strength make many families rejoice with joy and joy.
